General Description
This excursion takes you from Izmir to two of the most iconic landmarks in inland Turkey: the natural pools of Pamukkale and the archaeological site of Hierapolis. With a duration of eleven to twelve hours, it includes transportation, a Spanish-speaking guide, and a traditional meal.
Itinerary
The activity begins with pickup at your hotel in Izmir at the specified time. From there, you will travel east to Hierapolis, one of Turkey’s main Roman sites. During the visit, you will explore the necropolis and the ancient Roman theater, built under Emperor Hadrian with a capacity for 20,000 spectators.
Afterwards, you will head to Pamukkale, famous for its “cotton castles,” natural white travertine formations declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have approximately one hour of free time to, if you wish, bathe in these thermal waters. Subsequently, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with typical regional dishes. Finally, you will return to your hotel in Izmir.
