Detailed Itinerary

The meeting will take place in a cozy weaving studio located in Anabala Pasajı, in central Istanbul and near Taksim Square. After a warm welcome, you will enjoy a cup of Turkish tea or coffee while being introduced to the fascinating tradition of Turkish carpets, their patterns, and the symbolism of their colors.

Then, you will begin the practical weaving session. With the help of a craftsman, you will learn the authentic double knot technique used in carpet making. You will sit at your own individual loom to start weaving a personalized mini carpet, using colorful wool threads.

While you work, the instructor will share anecdotes about Istanbul and Turkish culture, and you can enjoy fruit, snacks, and drinks. Once your design is complete, they will help you carefully frame it so you can take it home as a unique, self-made souvenir. The experience concludes with group photos after approximately two and a half hours.
